Information on data protection

Office Hours for the Personal Delivery of Documents

Monday - Thursday 7:30 - 16:00 and Friday 7:30 - 15:00.

Office Hours for the Cash Office

Location Stubenring: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9:00 - 11.30.

Location Radetzkystraße: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8:30 - 12:00.

Access to the Building

For security reasons an access control system has been installed in the government building at 1 Stubenring. All external persons have to go to the information desk (porter) in order to gain access to the offices of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection. A guest card is issued when you leave an official ID at the porter’s office. The guest card also enables you to use the lift.

Citizens’ Service

The Citizens’ Service team provides advice and orientation on questions in the field of social affairs and helps members of the public to find their way in the social system.
It provides information on the areas of responsibility of the Ministry of Social Affairs, for example regarding caring for members of your family. Providing sound advice and maintaining confidentiality are our utmost priorities.

The Citizens’ Service team is also pleased to provide personal advice at our service point in the government building.

Information About Data Protection in Relation to Enquiries to the Citizens’ Service:

The processing of your personal data by the Citizens’ Service of the Ministry of Social Affairs takes place on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Federal Ministries Act 1986 (BMG) and the Act on the obligation to provide information, and is  used for information activities and includes text files which are created and stored using automated processing.
We would like to inform you that documents or data which are processed in the context of the work of the Citizens’ Service are subject to legally specified retention periods. Your data is therefore stored by us for a period of ten years following the last processing activity. You are free to decide whether you wish to participate in the collection of data – there is no legal obligation to make your data available.
In addition, we would like to point out that you have a right to information about your data that we have stored, to request that it be corrected, to have it deleted, or to limit or object to its processing in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act. Legally binding retention periods and the intended use are not affected by this.
Furthermore, you have a right to lodge a complaint regarding the processing of your data. You can exercise this right by contacting the Data Protection Authority (Austrian Data Protection Authority).
