Report of the Federal Government on the situation of people with disabilities

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the developments in disability policy in the years 2008-2016 and is a valuable reference work for a specialist audience and all interested persons.

On 22 August 2017, the federal government adopted the third Report on the Situation of People with Disabilities in Austria. Key issues are the status of the implementation of the UN Disability Rights Convention and the National Action Plan on Disability 2012–2020.

The attached report by Statistics Austria on the results of the additional survey for the 2015 micro census contains current figures and data on the issue of people with disabilities in Austria. According to this, 18.4 percent of the residential population of Austria live with a disability – a projected figure of around 1.3 million persons.

On the basis of this report, a summary of Austrian disability policy in the years 2008-2016 (PDF, 461 KB) was drawn up.
