Victims of harm caused by vaccinations

In cases where a person’s health has been damaged by vaccinations in Austria, they can be entitled to compensation.

All persons (also those who are not Austrian citizens) who have been harmed by the smallpox vaccination which was compulsory until 1980, an obligatory vaccination for the mother-child pass, or a vaccination recommended by a regulation of the Ministry of Health, are entitled to compensation. Entitlement to a disability pension or supplementary payments in accordance with the Vaccination Damage Act is only given when the vaccination took place in Austria.

A comprehensive list of benefits can be viewed on the web pages of the Sozialministeriumsservice, to which applications for compensation can also be made.
